Extensive computering and use of the internet give way to a true revolution of both translating and the translators' work. We need to make the best of it, to wonder about the real issues.

Automatic translation is making real progress and one should not deny its advantages. However it cannot and will probably never be adapted to some kinds of texts. As far as they are concerned, you need a good human translator.

He/she can work more efficiently thanks to computer assisted translation and online ressources. These are available to anyone but one needs to learn how to use them. They constitute a convenient complement to pencils and books for the one who masters the complex art of translation. Truthfullness, loyalty, want for perfection and acquired knowledge are irreplaceable.
